How do you decide what to keep and what to let go?

When you're stuck on one item, a short fixed process beats staring at it. Declutter Quest has three of them, called decision helpers, in the Decide tab:

  • Flip a Coin. Leave it or toss it. Chance decides, and your reaction tells you what you really wanted.
  • Declutter Checklist. Five yes-or-no questions, then a recommendation.
  • Explain It in 30 Seconds. Hold the item and say why you need it before the timer runs out.

Each one takes under a minute. A rough guide to which to use: the checklist for things you're unsure about, Explain It for things you're attached to, and the coin for things you honestly don't care about either way.

Still stuck after that? The same tab has the Maybe box. Put the item somewhere out of sight and pick a decide-by date. When the day comes, the app asks one question: did you miss it? If you never reached for it, you have your answer.

The helpers and the Maybe box are Premium, and the helpers are what people mention most often in reviews. I think that's because the hardest part of decluttering isn't the work. It's the hundred small decisions.

The app says it on the screen, and I'll say it here: these are just tools. The decision stays yours.
