How do I keep a record of everything I've decluttered?

Log each item when it leaves, with the date and where it went. Declutter Quest keeps all of it in a journal, so the record builds itself as you go.

Every entry holds the quantity, date, category, method (thrown, sold, donated or recycled), an optional description and, for sold items, the amount you got. The home screen always shows your last five entries. The full journal is part of Premium, and it's built for looking back:

  • Date filters: this week, this month, the last 30 days, all time, or a custom range
  • Tag filter: see only one room, project or challenge
  • Sorting: newest or oldest first, or by amount earned
  • Editing: fix a date or a quantity, or delete an entry
  • Export: download everything as a CSV file

It's more useful than it sounds. A journal answers questions like "how much did we get rid of before the move?" or "when did I last clear the garage?". And on a bad week, scrolling back through three months of entries is a good reminder that you've done more than you think.
