How to take before and after decluttering photos

Take the before photo first, before you touch anything, from a spot you can find again. That's 90% of it. Everything else is detail.

Declutter Quest has photo projects for this (a Premium feature). Make a project for each space, say "Hall closet" or "Garage", and it gets three stages: Before, Progress and After.

What the app does to help:

  • Several photos per stage, up to 10, so you can cover a room from every angle.
  • A camera with a guide. When you take the after shot, a see-through copy of your before photo sits on top, so you can line up the same angle.
  • A compare slider. Drag across the photo to wipe between before and after.
  • A share image. Stacked, side by side or as a grid, ready to post or send.

None of the stages are required. If you only want a before and an after, skip Progress entirely.

The posts after this one go into each part. But if you read only one thing: take the before photo today, even if you're not starting today.
